The Genesee Rapids rallied with six runs in the 8th inning to down the Hornell Steamers 8-7 on Sunday afternoon.
Genesee jumped ahead in the 1st inning when Jerry Guzman hit a RBI ground out and Braeden Dyck followed with a RBI single.
Hornell tied it in the 2nd, when Will Dixon (LSU Eunice) and Logan Hoyt (Hilbert) collected RBI's.
The Steamers took the lead with three in the 3rd. Dixon collected a two-RBI single and Hoyt followed with a RBI single of his own.
The game remained 5-2 until the 7th when Dixon and Hoyt collected another RBI each.
In the 8th, the Rapids got things going and scored six times. Lochlan Stoudt delivered a three-run double and Eli Huebner followed with a RBI single to tie it.
Dixon finished with four RBI while Hoyt had three. Both were credited with a pair of hits. Caleb Cassidy (Pomona Pitzer) and Tobey Wright (Monroe CC) both were 2 for 4.
Caleb Wilson (Finger Lakes CC) was solid in seven innings of work. He didn't allow an earned run while walking six and striking out five.
Dyck led the Rapids (11-1) with a 3 for 5 day.
Hornell will host the Rapids on Tuesday at Maple City Park at 7 p.m.
