Horseheads took the lead in the 4th inning, scoring five runs on an RBI single by Max Underhill, a sacrifice fly by Howard Backus Jr., an RBI single by Clay Cook, and a two-run single by Dominic Vogel.
The Steamers cut the Hitmen lead to one in the 4th inning, gathering two runs on an RBI single by Tobey Wright (Monroe Community College) and a fielder's choice.
Hornell wasn't done there, tying the game in the 6th inning on an RBI single by Cooper McEnroe (Northwestern State).
The Hitmen got their lead right back in the 7th inning, scoring a run on an error.
Horseheads tacked on another run to their lead in the 8th, scoring a run on a passed ball.
Horseheads pitcher Frank Vogel was awarded the win on the mound while Jacob Masters recorded the save. Steamers Sebastian Ecker (Montclair State) pitched a solid 3.2 innings of relief and was the tough luck loser.

The Steamers are back in action tomorrow on Wednesday, July 2nd, when they face the Rochester Ridgemen at Bishop Kearney High School. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
