Ty Kenney (Houghton) delivered a two-run single in the 7th inning to lift Hornell to a 9-8 victory in game two of a doubleheader at the Rochester Ridgemen. The teams split a pair of games after the Ridgemen took the opener 18-6.

The Steamers plated two in the 1st inning to take the early lead when Caleb Cassidy (Pomona Pitzer) and Cooper McEnroe (Northwestern State) scored on a two-out fielding error.

The Ridgemen cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning before Hornell plated three more in the 2nd. Cassidy tripled home a pair of runs and scored on a passed ball.

Rochester got right back in the game with four of their own in the 2nd and took the lead with two more in the bottom of the 4th.

Wyatt Argentieri (Genesee CC) scored on a wild pitch to cut it to 6-5 in the 6th.

In the 7th, Dalton Groves (Webster) collected a one out single and pinch runner Dylan Walsh (Brandeis) went to second when Alex Green (Finger Lakes CC) was hit by a pitch. Will Dixon (LSU Eunice) hit a RBI double to tie the game before Kenney connected on a two-RBI single up the middle to give Hornell a 9-7 advantage.

Rochester didn't go away. They loaded the bases and drew a one-out bases loaded walk to draw within one but Michael Pasquesi (Webster) struck out the final two batters to close out the victory.

Kenney finished 2 for 3 with two RBI while Cassidy was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Dixon was 2 for 4 with a RBI. Pasquesi didn't allow a hit in 3.2 innings of relief to earn the victory. He allowed one run, walked three, and struck out six.

Rochester used three big innings in the opener to earn the victory. They scored five in the 1st, six in the 4th, and seven in the 5th. They finished the game with 16 hits.

McEnroe was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI for Hornell while Tobey Wright (Monroe CC) was 2 for 3. Qingyang Feng was 1 for 1 with a pair of RBI.
