Six Steamers heading to the All-Star Game

Six members of the Hornell Steamers have been selected to play for the Western Division at the 2025 NYCBL All-Star Game. The game will be played on Monday, July 14 at Onondaga CC.

 

Markus Brehm (Finger Lakes CC), Hayden Hernandez (LSU-Eunice), Cooper McEnroe (Northwestern State), Austin Ellis (Northwestern State), Caleb Cassidy (Pomona Pitzer), and Caleb Wilson (Finger Lakes CC) were selected.

 

Brehm has appeared in 24 games and is hitting .386 (39 for 101) with a league high 14 doubles. He has hit two homers, driven in 18 and scored a team high 30 times. He is also 14 for 15 on the basepaths.

 

Hernandez has appeared in 17 games and is hitting .345 (19 for 55) with five doubles and a team high three homers. He has driven in eight and scored ten times.

 

McEnroe is one of the league leaders with 28 RBI on the season. He is hitting .344 (32 for 93) with five doubles, one triple, and a homer. He has scored 15 times.

 

Ellis is hitting .339 (18 for 62) with three doubles, two homers, and 12 RBI. He has scored 18 times in his 20 games played.

 

Cassidy has appeared in 27 games and is hitting .330 (32 for 97). He has collected seven doubles, two triples, hit one homer, and driven in 18. He has scored 22 times.

 

Wilson has made six appearances on the mound and four starts. He is 1-0 with a 3.33 ERA in 27 innings of work. He has walked 11 and struck out 16.

 

First pitch of the annual All-Star game is slated for 4 p.m. and will be broadcasted on the NYCBL Digital Network.
