As another Hornell Steamers season heads to the postseason, I'd like to take a moment to recognize some of the incredible people who work tirelessly to make Steamer baseball possible.
Thank you to our athletic trainer, Lyndsey, who has been a vital part of the Steamers family for the past five seasons. Lyndsey's dedication to the health and well-being of our players is invaluable, and we are grateful for everything she does.
A special thank you also goes to Peish and Peish Sports for once again handling our video livestream throughout the season. Your commitment allows family, friends, and fans near and far to follow the Steamers all summer long.
We're incredibly fortunate to have an outstanding group of interns. Thank you to our on-field interns, MacKenzie and MacKenna, and to our press box interns, Nate and Davin.
I'd also like to recognize our photography and social media intern, Jacey, whose creativity and dedication helped showcase our team and create lasting memories throughout the season. Your work has been outstanding, and we truly appreciate everything you've done.
A huge thank you goes to Jean for stepping in to manage our concession stand this season. We also couldn't have done it without the tremendous support of Matt, Jeff, and Kate, who generously gave their time to keep our fans fed and our operations running smoothly.
One of the greatest strengths of our organization is our incredible group of host families. Opening your homes to our players is about so much more than providing a place to stay. You provide a welcoming environment, home-cooked meals, encouragement, and a sense of family while these young men spend their summer here in Hornell. Your generosity has a lasting impact on our players, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and hospitality.
To our players and coaching staff, thank you for representing the Hornell Steamers and our community with pride throughout the summer. You committed yourselves to long bus rides, early workouts, late nights, and countless hours on the field while striving to improve every day. More importantly, you served as outstanding ambassadors for our organization by engaging with young fans, supporting community events, and carrying yourselves with class. We are proud of everything you accomplished this season and wish each of you continued success both on and off the baseball field.
To our season ticket holders, sponsors, supporters, and loyal fans—thank you. Your continued support is what makes Hornell Steamers baseball possible. Because of you, collegiate summer baseball continues to thrive in Hornell.
I'd also like to thank my fellow board members: Peggy, Matt, Jammie, Chris, Craig, Lynn, Aubri, Julie, Steve, and Jeff. These two months always feel like a sprint, and I know I don't say "thank you" nearly enough along the way. Please know how much I appreciate your countless hours, your commitment to this organization, and your belief in what we're building together. The success of the Hornell Steamers is a direct reflection of your dedication, teamwork, and passion for bringing summer baseball to our community.
Finally, I would like to thank my support team at home, Kate, Braden, and Emma. Thanks for letting me spend so much time with at the ballpark - also very thankful for jumping in and supporting/helping/running around with me when we need help.
The Hornell Steamers are much more than a baseball team - wet are a community effort. Every volunteer, sponsor, host family, fan, player, coach, and board member plays an important role in our success. We couldn't do it without you!
Thank you - see you in the playoffs
